30th July 2024, Peru -UNIDO ITPO Korea office organized the webinar ‘Foundation of Technopark in Ica, Peru applying Korean Technopark examples’ in collaboration with the regional government of Ica in Peru. This was organized to support fostering the foundation of Technopark in Ica by sharing successful examples and experiences of Korea.
The regional government of Ica has showed interest in building Industrial-Technological Park in Ica Region, while declaring of the necessity of it, which led to this webinar participated by 28 participants including the regional government officers of Ica and the researchers of the Korean Technoparks.
At the beginning, the current status of Peru and Ica and the cooperative project were introduced by the presentation of Edgardo Caldas Donayre, the author of this project proposal. As a next speaker, Hyun-young Yoon, the director of Korea Techno Park Association, had a presentation about the Korean Technopark Model and international cooperations including transferring the Korean Technopark Model, which drew big attention from participants.
Lastly, Heedae Kim, the senior researcher of Daegu Technopark, suggested guidelines for the development and foundation of the Technopark in Ica, while sharing the Daegu Technopark Model with examples, which was followed by active questions of the attendees.
This webinar is expected to contribute to proceeding the cooperative project through referring the successful Korean examples as well as checking necessities for the foundation of the first Technopark in Peru, which would be the important incubator for the Peruvian Industry.
